It’s interesting to read the most recent dermatology and plastic surgery statistics, where they all show Botox injections being in decline, but Allergan reported a 36% surge in profit for the second quarter. This profit was partially due to higher sales of Botox. In fact Botox sales were up 7% over last year.
Allergan, Inc. (NYSE:AGN) on Monday reported a 36% surge in profit for the second quarter, boosted by higher sales of its anti-wrinkle treatment Botox.
As the Executive-Director of the IAPAM (International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine) I receive many calls and emails from physicians looking at entering the aesthetic medicine industry. The most common request is for Botox training, many believe by only offering Botox, they will be on their way to vast riches. The reality is that you certainly need to offer Botox treatments (it has been the number one non/minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for years), but it is highly commoditized. Ok, I have been off the hCG diet program for 90 days, so I decided to have my “after” RMR (resting metabolic rate) tested. As you may remember, one of the supposed benefits of going on a hCG weight loss program was that it resets your metabolism. So before I starting the hCG diet program I had my RMR tested, and now that I have been off the diet, and eating normal food for the last 90 days, I thought I would check it again to see if my metabolism did increase.
